About the before list
A chronological feed of what's being built — alpha, beta, stealth, recently shipped.
What this is
I curate tools from what I see on X, newsletters, Instagram, and other channels. Each listing shows where I found it and who's building it. Sometimes it's a solo developer's weekend project, sometimes it's Google's latest beta. It's organized chronologically, not exhaustively.
"Before" as in before they hit the mainstream launch platforms. Tools that are alpha today might be gone tomorrow or launching next week. It's a feed of what's happening now in the building world.
Being listed here isn't an endorsement. I'm not trying every tool or vetting every claim.
Why text first
Early tools often don't have polished logos or screenshots yet. Or they have abstract imagery and colored gradients that don't show what they actually do. Text cuts through that and gets to what matters.
What gets in
- Tools in alpha, beta, waitlist, or recently launched stages
- Real projects with working builders behind them
- Things that seem worth trying or watching
- This isn't meant to be comprehensive
For builders
Maybe you're busy building and have exhausted your network for early interest. Or you're building something that isn't quite a fit for your usual circles and need new avenues. AI is changing who can build and what gets created - this is a place for that new wave.
For early adopters
Help builders get to product-market fit with honest feedback. Share that bug report. Don't say something is awesome if you think it's crap. Early builders need real signals, not cheerleading.
Reality check
Some things will be buggy. Some will flop. Some will pivot completely. Some listings may be removed at any time without notice. That's the nature of early-stage work, and it's ok.
What's next
Maybe connecting the right early adopters with builders based on interests and timing. Maybe videos from builders about what they're working on. Maybe evolving beyond just listings. Or maybe not.
